This notice explains what Hardy Construction (Stamford) Ltd does with personal information, both on this website and when you get in touch with us about a project.

What this website does
Very little, by design. These pages are static: they set no cookies, contain no advertising or social media code, and carry no forms. Visiting the site does not tell us who you are.
Because we set no cookies, there is nothing here for you to consent to and no cookie banner to dismiss.
Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use them to identify visitors.
Counting visits
We count visits to this website with Vercel Web Analytics, from Vercel, the company that hosts it. For each page opened, it records the page, the website that linked to it, roughly where the visitor is (to the town), the browser and type of device, and the time.
It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visits are told apart by a code worked out from each request and thrown away after 24 hours, so the counts are not tied to you or to your IP address, and nobody can follow you from one day to the next.
We use the totals only to see how the website is doing, which is our legitimate interest in running it. If you would rather not be counted, a tracker blocker in your browser stops it, and the website works just the same.
When you contact us
If you telephone or email us about a project, we will hold what you tell us: your name and contact details, the address of the property, and whatever you describe about the work. If the enquiry progresses we will also hold drawings, quotations, correspondence and, on site, dated photographs of the work as it is carried out.
We use this to answer you, to price the work, to carry it out, and to keep proper records of what we built and when. In data protection terms we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract, on performing that contract once we have one, and on our legitimate interest in running the business and keeping evidence of our own workmanship.
Who else sees it
Only those who need to. That may include the subcontractors and suppliers pricing or carrying out part of your job, your architect or other consultants where you have asked us to deal with them, our accountant, our insurers, and Building Control or a conservation officer where the work requires it.
We also use trusted suppliers to run our email and our project records, who hold information on our behalf and may not use it for anything else. We do not sell your information to anybody, ever.
How long we keep it
No longer than we need to. An enquiry that does not become work is deleted within two years. Where we have carried out work, we keep the contract records, correspondence and site photographs for six years after completion, because that is the period during which a claim can be brought and the period our insurers and HMRC expect us to be able to account for.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Write to us at the address above and we will respond within one month.
- If you are not happy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office
- ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113
