Hardy Construction was founded by Alex Hardy in 2010. In that time it has built a reputation for high-quality building structures across commercial, residential and heritage work.

One of our particular strengths is groundworks, done by our own skilled operators — whether that is for a housing development or the construction of a new factory unit. It is also the part of a job where a programme is most often lost, which is why we do not sub it out.

The business became a limited company in February 2018 and took over the activities of the old company that June. Today Hardy Construction works with its own operators and plant, and brings in carefully selected subcontractors only for non-core works such as electrics, plumbing and heating.

We work as Principal Contractor under the CDM Regulations. Before work starts, that means a construction phase plan, and making sure our client knows their own duties under CDM. On site, it means an induction for everyone working there, toolbox talks and site inspections. At handover, it means a health and safety file and the building’s fire safety information.

It is not just about bricks and mortar. We set out to deliver buildings and an experience that exceed what our customers expected — which mostly means saying what we are going to do, and then doing it.
